The Great Emu War of 1932

Twisted History produced by John Kelly, Research: Saint Anne

In the latest Twisted History podcast, we catch you up on The Great Emu War of 1932 between a mob of emus and a bunch of Australian farmers.

We then dive deep into serial killers (finally!) - I know a lot of you have been waiting for this.

We will eventually circle back with Clem and find a time to do the Twisted History of wrestling.

This is just part I of serial killers, researcher Saint Anne (big thanks!) has over 40 pages of this stuff which might get her thrown on a watch list. Everybody knows serial killers do a TON of research before committing murder:

We also talk Netflix's Mindhunter, which features Dennis Rader.

From the notes:

A serial killer, sexual sadist, and former Cub Scout leader. He was known as “BTK"  (for "bind, torture, kill").

As a child, he had developed “violent sexual fantasies that involved bondage” after killing animals.

He acted out sexual fetishes for voyeurism, autoerotic asphyxiation and cross-dressing; he would often spy on female neighbors while dressed in women's clothing, including women's underwear that he had stolen, and masturbate with ropes or other bindings around his arms and neck.
