Kobe Bryant And The Fragility Of Life

(Originally published January 26, 2020)   Death was on my mind a lot this weekend for more than a few reasons. I spent my time up in Newburyport helping my girl take care of her 92-year old grandmother. Her sight is going, I’m merely a blob to her, and I have to remind her of my name frequently. Whi

20 Great Things About "Country Grammar" on its 20th Birthday

1. At the time this album dropped, you usually had to do one of two things to go diamond as a rapper: Be white (Eminem) or die (Biggie, Tupac). Nelly decided to go a different route altogether. Pioneer. 2. I admittedly didn't know a ton about St. Louis or who was from there. On "St. Louie", Nelly im

Bagels Vs. Croissants

On today's Mickstape, we argued for close to 45 minutes over bread. It may have been even longer, as time is a social construct only used to perpetu......nevermind, I'm off base already.  I'm a croissant man. I've got no gripe with bagels but if they're both available, I'll go croissant every time.

#Mickstape Rest in Peace, Kush Kobain

Welcome back! On today's Tape™, we discuss And.....and MORE!  Also, we remember another friend, Dan (Kush Kobain), who passed away way too soon. If any kind of official GoFundMe is set up for his family or daughter, we will be sure to let everyone know. Be good to yourself today.

This Draft Has Upset Me Greatly

There's a lot going on in the first round. Some of which upsets me greatly. I wanted to go to the article first to make sure I had the proper guidelines for my rage:   Every current NFL player is available, and salary caps don't matter here. But we only drafted four rounds. In those four picks, each

Trilly Grades Your Rebuild 2020: Phoenix Suns

Trilly Builds is back! Same as last year....only different! We still have our "Good Things" and "Bad Things" section. We no longer have our rebuild status grade because, with the way the season ended, just about every team could claim incomplete. I've added three things that I would do if I took ove

Some Things Are Bigger Than Sports

Shoutout to Rico Bosco because this is exactly what he’s talking about when he talks about “Bigger than sports.” You talk about a tear jerker. Holy smokes. If I’m a college program on the rise I’m hiring this coach on the spot because clearly he moves people like no other. This kid was reading HIS O

I've Never Seen A Drunker Masshole Win An Argument So Thoroughly

28-3 is no longer the greatest comeback in Boston history. This drunk chick at Lee Chen’s never stood a chance here. She was legless. She wasn’t making any sense. She was calling people very clearly with hair bald. It was a bloodbath. And then, out of nowhere, the drunk dude brought up Albany – some

Introducing The World's Worst Hide & Seek Player

What an absolute bum. Superior sound and smelling abilities my ass. What an absolute disgrace. She’s right fucking there! That door is covering 0% of her profile. Basically standing in the middle of the room screaming “LOOK AT ME!” And dumb-dumb brain here can’t find her at all. Not even particularl
