This Trent Williams Situation Could Potentially Be Hilarious If He Fakes A New Injury Every Day
I have not a clue what the end game here is for either side, but I cannot wait to find out. Trent Williams showed up to Redskins Park yesterday after they didn’t move him, and apparently the idiots that run the Redskins thought that meant he’d just suit up and play on Sunday. Meanwhile all of us at home realized Trent just wanted this year to count for his contract, and never had any desire to play for the Skins. I am hoping, hoping so much, Trent fakes a new injury every day. “Ah sorry coach, can’t practice today, my groin is acting up”. “Ey sorry coach, can’t come in today, came down with a bit of a stomach bug”. “Hey coach, can’t come in today, my Grandma died”. Just a nonstop barrage of excuses.
And then we’ll all find out how this all works. Right now I don’t think there is a precedent set for when a player under contract shows up after holding out and then continues his hold out. And what are they going to do, suspend him? Oh no, the horror! The player who doesn’t want to be there gets suspended, what ever will he do???
I guess they shoulda just traded him while they had the chance. Gee, imagine that.
