The Boston Bruins shut out the Minnesota Wild 4-0 to earn their fifth straight win. (Undefeated in 2019, not to brag).

(1st, 5:23): Danton Heinen with the redirect, 1-0 Bruins.

(1st, 11:29): Brad Marchand buries one off a bounce from the boards. No idea how he got that on net. 2-0 Bruins.

FINAL: Boston 4, Minnesota 0

News notes and quotes:

  • Five straight wins. Undefeated in 2019. What a weird game. Goal off a chest, goal off a skate, and some weird, weird, penalties. But we’ll take it.
  • Three point nights for Brad Marchand (1G, 2A) and Patrice Bergeron (1G, 2A).
  • Back on the scoresheet – Danton Heinen scored his 5th of the season off a redirect from the point from Moore.
  • Speaking of Moore, Johnny had himself a two point night, his first multi-point game as a Bruin.
  • David Pastrnak had like a 30 second sequence of brilliance just dangling all over the Wild. I know the Wild got in at like 3am and all of that shit and it was a “scheduled loss” (which I think is bs, you can win any night in this league), but my god was that beautiful to see.
  • Ryan Donato just had a hair over 10 minutes of TOI. In a 4-0 win… yikes.
  • Tuukka Rask made 24 saves to earn his first shutout of the year. His 250th career win.

IMPORTANT – Tonight’s 8 spoked salute went to this good boy named Peta from the US Air Force.

Also look who is skating again….

Marchand cracked one joke about getting him an alarm for Christmas because he was late to something and the media in Boston “made it an issue” about McAvoy’s so called behavioral issues.. Literally bullshit, but Marchand has come out and said it’s a non-story and they are moving on. Guess the win streak wasn’t enough to talk about. Bruce Cassidy echoed the same thing.

B’s are back in action on Thursday night against the defending Stanley Cup Champions.. the Washington Capitals. Puck drops at 7 pm. After that they make a trip to Toronto on Saturday, while Montreal comes to town Monday night. Some big games coming up against divisional opponents.

It was a great night to win a hockey game (for the fifth straight time).
