We All Know That Chris Long Would Dominate Chris Hogan 1v1 In Lacrosse

NFC Championship - Minnesota Vikings v Philadelphia Eagles

So by now I’m sure that everybody knows there’s this little football match coming up in a couple of weeks which will pit the Eagles of Philadelphia against the New England Patriots. There’s plenty of buzz surrounding this game and it’s all people can talk about. Will the Eagles get their revenge from 2004? Will Brady and Belichick continue to add to their dynasty? But the question that is currently taking the world by storm?

What would happen if Eagles’ defensive end Chris Long played lacrosse 1v1 against Patriots’ wide receiver Chris Hogan?

Now for those of you who are unaware, Chris Hogan actually used to play lacrosse at the collegiate level for Penn State. Though it is a shocking revelation, it is very much a factual statement. He was an Under Armour All-Almerican at Ramapo High School in New Jersey before heading to Happy Valley. Pretty decent lacrosse career, for sure, but let’s not forget that the Eagles also have a former lacrosse player of their own.

Chris Long may not have gone to college to play lacrosse, but he could have easily hopped on the Virginia roster if he wanted to. Buddy played at St. Anne’s-Belfied and was already built like a damn gorilla in high school.

Keep in mind that Virginia won the National Championship his junior year in 2006. So Chris Long could have easily been a National Champion at Virginia while Chris Hogan never even made an NCAA Tournament appearance during his time at Penn State. In fact, Chris Hogan only had one year where his team was over .500 at Penn State. And if Chris Long wanted to, he could have been winning championships with Matt Ward and Kyle Dixon and Matt Poskay and Kip Turner.

You give Chris Long a long pole and have Chris Hogan try to dodge on him from anywhere on the field that he wants, Chris Long shuts him down 15 times out of 10. From up top? Chris Hogan ends up getting bullied to the sidelines before he even steps into the box. From the wing? Chris Hogan has a better chance of getting Bill Belichick to cry than he has of getting top side against Chris Long. And don’t even get me started on if they’re going from X. First off, I don’t think Chris Hogan is much of a behind-the-cage dodger to begin with. But even if he tried, he wouldn’t even sniff GLE before getting put through the dirt.

So there we have it. The biggest football game of the year and all anybody cares about right now is which team has the edge when it comes to lacrosse. And the answer is a simple one. Chris Long and the Eagles roll on the 4th and it gets real ugly real fast.
