Dude Gets Jailed For Two Years For Holding His Baby Out A Window And Saying "1,000 Likes Or I Will Drop Him"

BBC- A court in Algeria has sentenced a man to two years in prison for dangling a baby out of a window in order to attract “likes” on Facebook. The man posted a picture of himself holding the baby out of a window in a high-rise building with the caption: “1,000 likes or I will drop him.” It prompted other social media users to demand his arrest for child abuse. He was charged with endangering the baby’s safety following his arrest on Sunday, police said. The child was dangled out of the 15th-floor window of an apartment block in the capital, Algiers, news site Al Arabiya reported. The man, who is a relative of the child, denied he put his life at risk, saying the image had been altered by social media users, Algeria’s privately owned Ennahar TV reported. “The picture was taken in a balcony with protective barriers. These were removed,” he was quoted as saying. The child’s father urged the court to forgive the man, saying he had just been playing a game. However, the judge ruled against him, saying the picture was clear and the child’s life was in danger.

Wow. Michael Jackson really was ahead of his time. Holding babies out of windows is the new hotness now? MJ was doing that shit back in like 2002. But I suppose the social media game done changed. It’s 2017. It’s not just tits and ass anymore*. Now the Likes and followers are much harder to come by. You gotta be original. You gotta go to extreme measures to get people’s attention. Oh you think your witty jokes and self deprecating humor is gonna make waves on the Twitter machine? Nope. You’re so wrong. You gotta hold a damn baby out the damn window and threaten people for their Likes. Hold them hostage for them to smash that Follow button. This begs the question, what is the threshold of Likes/followers that makes it worth it to hold your baby out the window? 1,000 Likes is far too low. This guy is gonna do two years in prison. That SUCKS. Do you know how bad prison is? Yeah you do because we watch TV and movies. I think I’d need to walk outta jail with a few million followers to make it worth it. Still though, probably not worth it.
