Justin Williams Game 7 Stats Are Exactly What You'd Expect For Mr. Game 7

I don’t know why I expected anything different from Justin Williams. 7-0 in game 7’s is crazytown. But then having 7 goals and 7 assists as well? Of course he does. Hopefully this doesn’t mean he’s due for an L, but that’s just one of the ways of thinking about this game. My head is all over the place.

Basically, I have two very different trains of thought about tomorrow night’s game:

1) The Caps have outplayed the Penguins the majority of the series. We have a deeper team offensively, defensively, and a much better goalie. We have home ice which means last change and the home ice advantage. The Caps are the better team through and through, up and down, side to side. The Pens have taken more advantage of their chances and capitalized at all the right times, so that’s why we are in this situation to begin with.

2) All bad things happen to the Caps, DC sports, and me in general. The Pens are setting us up just to spike it right back in our faces. Every time something good can happen, something bad happens instead. What will it be this time? We’ve already had the own-goal and all the bad bounces. Will Ovi tear his ACL? Will Holtby’s face get mauled off by a wild coyote? As the old phrase goes- if something can go wrong, it will go wrong if you cheer for DC sports.

It’s impossible not to be nervous, but I also have this weird optimism that I’ve never felt before. I fully believe the Caps are better, at home, and ready to get this 9 billion pound gorilla off their backs. I just need it to be tomorrow already.
