That’s terrifying. I realize it’s just a device to keep kids in line during the holidays and I fully support that. That’s gotta be where the term It’s The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year comes from. It comes from parents who are able to hold Santa Claus and presents over their kid’s heads like a guillotine so they behave. Be good………OR ELSE. But think of the Elf On The Shelf from the kids perspective. That’s just a creepy elf who spies on you when you’re not looking and then hides in different spots all over the house every night. We didn’t do Elf On The Shelf at my house growing up and I’m grateful for that. I would be traumatized just like those little kids. Like, okay sure, your kids don’t act like complete assholes during the holiday season BUT they’re probably going to have vicious night terrors and are gonna need lots of hours of therapy. Gotta weigh the pros and cons.
