Not Entirely Sure How To Feel About The NHL Playing Exhibition Games In China
Because everybody loves waking up for NFL games in London so much that you know an NHL game 13 time zones away will be a massive success. Here’s the thing that bothers me so much about the NHL going to China. The NHL isn’t a gimmick league. That’s not what this league is all about. Sure, they may play about 10 outdoor games a year at this point. And they may have the fan voting system for the 3-on-3 All Star Game. But again, this is not a gimmick league. Leave those cheap tricks to the NFL and NBA.
The only potential good news here is that Gary Bettman is still gay porn hard for “growing the game”. And if he wants to grow the game this badly, then I think he’ll end up getting bullied into keeping NHL players in the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang. 1 exhibition game is clearly different than having the entire league shutdown for 2 weeks in the middle of the season. But again. Bettman gets off to the thought of growing the game and putting the best possible product out in South Korea in 2018 has to do a little something for him.
P.S. – don’t forget that Trump takes office on January 20th. No chance in hell this game ever happens. Cute idea though.
