Happy Veterans Day, Kellen Winslow, Jr

Its 11/11, which for all you WWI buffs means its the 115th anniversary of the first time we kicked Hitlers ass. It also means that its an important day to thank all of those who gave so much to serve there country, like Kellen Winslow, Jr.

I never served in the military due to bone spurs in my heels or whatever but I do own a number of camoflauge Jordy Nelson jerseys and I’ve watched every single NFL game thus far during to salute to service month, not to brag. While this dosen’t technically make me a member of the armed forces it does qualify me to acknowledge Kellen Winslows service under the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Cleveland Browns administrations. As a two-time survivor of trench-knee aka MRSA, I’m not saying he should receive a plot in Arlington Cemetary, but he should at least be eligible for USAA and we should allow him to board airplanes before the rest of us.

There’s a old theory in economics that two countries that have McDonalds have never fought wars against each other, but there’s another one when it comes to warfare that says that any two countries that have soccer as there main sports will get there ass kicked by Germany on the Western front until a bunch of guys that use to play American football in high school intervene. Football and war is basically the same thing except soldiers dont wear pads. Also the United States Miltary has a much more difficult strength of schedule since they dont even really schedule home games, and when they do its against SEC opponents.

America might of become too PC to the point where its not cool or whatever for people to compare pigskin to war, but every single high school coach that I’ve ever had did it. If football isnt just as tough as fighting in combat then how come we spend so much more money per capita on medical research and care for athletes than we do for our veterans? Checkmate.
