College World Series - Arizona v Coastal Carolina - Game Three

First of all, congrats to Coastal Carolina. A school that was probably best known in the sports world for this…

…came out of nowhere to win the College World Series. Coastal’s first championship ever, in anything. Their entire conference has never had a national champion. There is ONE active Coastal player in the MLB: Taylor Motter. And the Rays caught his awesome reaction.

The only problem?

Nobody, almost literally, saw it.

After they got rained out Wednesday night, the game ended up being played at 1 PM yesterday afternoon…on ESPNU. Everyone immediately blamed ESPN, but they were under contract to show Wimbledon on ESPN and Euro ’16 on ESPN2 during the day. At night though, all they had scheduled was a rerun of the “Believeland” 30 for 30, so that should have worked right?

Can you guess who is actually to blame?

ESPN in an emailed statement said, “We offered a primetime window on ESPN as a preferred rescheduling option for Game 3 of the NCAA College World Series Finals. The NCAA made the decision to play the game at 1 p.m. ET. ESPN and ESPN2 have previously scheduled Wimbledon and Euro games airing this afternoon. [SBD]

What better way to cap off a college season, with the NCAA fucking something up?

PS,

Arizona may have been the loser, but everyone who got to watch clips of the dugout throughout the season was a winner.
