Jimmer Fredette, An Underhand Free Throw Shooter, And Two People I've Never Heard Of Will Represent The United States First Ever 3-On-3 Team In The Olympics

Alright basketball hardos, don't come at me like I'm supposed to know who these people are. I'm a casual fan, and the clear and obvious story here is that it's cool that we'll be able to see Jimmer pull up from 30 again. Other than that, who are these guys? I did some research for you all, and after further review, I probably should've known who one of them is, not because he was good or anything, but because of who his dad is and his unorthodox free throw style. Here's the team:

Jimmer Fredette:

Jimmer in his heyday is right up there with Steph Curry and Caitlin Clark as the most electric to ever do it. And while he wasn't as good as the other two, the fact that he had to do it all while jacking off each night because he wasn't allowed to have sex made it even more impressive. If he wasn't on this team, I definitely wouldn't watch. Probably still won't, if we're being honest, although I may tune in if he's still doing this shit:

Canyon Barry:

Upon further research (and a text from Reags), this is the son of Rick Barry, and he's also the motherfucker that shot underhand free throws for Florida.

Academic All-American in 2017! Maybe if we can't outplay the opponents, we're trying to outsmart them? Seems like it with our next guy, too.

Kareem Maddox:

An Ivy Leaguer! His Wikipedia page says that his career highlights include being the 2011 Ivy League Defensive Player of the Year…..and that's it. At least he has a Wikipedia page though, right? Only averaged 8 points per game over his career at Princeton, but I'm assuming Team USA will be leaning on Jimmer to score, and Kareem will be utilized to lock up the other team's best player.

Dylan Travis:

Oh no! Picture not even available. Dude doesn't even have a Wikipedia page, so I had to go to USA Basketball's website to find out that he's a 6'3 white dude who started at a small university in Nebraska, moved to Iowa Central Community College as a sophomore, and then final got called up to the majors at Florida Southern College for his junior and senior seasons.

Alright, I'm not trying to shit on these guys. I hope they win the Gold. I just wish the United States took this inaugural year of 3-on-3 basketball at the Olympics a little more seriously. Can't we just trot out KD, LeBron, Steph, and Jayson Tatum for year 1, skunk everyone, literally shut teams out, and then be done with it? I just think the move was to assert our dominance on the rest of the world and then not care…..not not care right out of the gate.
