Light At The End Of The Tunnel: YouTubeTV Could Be Allowing Us To Pick The Games In The Multiview Feature Soon

9to5Google - YouTube TV first introduced Multiview last year in a preview during March Madness. The feature allows viewers to stream up to four games at once, selecting from some preset options. YouTube TV later expanded on the feature, allowing for some non-sports contentand later on more games, including NFL Sunday Ticket in recent months. In October, the feature expanded again to include games from NBA League Pass.

But through those expansions, there was no options to choose what games or channels were included in a Multiview stream beyond the options YouTube presented.

That seems to finally be changing, though. One YouTube TV user on Reddit spotted a new “Built a Multiview” option in recent days that appears to be rolling out in a limited capacity. When streaming one game, YouTube TV offered the option to select three other games from what was currently available. In a second test, one user saw the option to select from any games that were on, not just NBA games.

But through those expansions, there was no options to choose what games or channels were included in a Multiview stream beyond the options YouTube presented.

“It’s about damn time.” - Lizzo / anyone with YouTube TV for the last year.

So if you have been following along. YouTube TV made very wise and very needed decision to have a multiview feature about a year ago. This was a game changer for multiple tv guys like myself because the only other multiview options to this point required an Apple TV. ESPN had it as well as FUBO , both required Apple TV, which was a drag, however the big benefit was it let you select the games and channels you wanted.

When YouTube TV announced they would have a multiview, and then when they rolled it out, everyone was clamoring when they would finally roll out the way to be able to pick your games. It was a massive massive issue.

Well, fear no more my friends it looks like YouTube TV will put away their standard reply tweets and finally have a feature able to select the games you want. This is exactly what we need. EXACTLY. I’m not sure what took so long to do this but it is everything I have ever dreamed of. The basement wall has 3 TV’s, (working on adding two more), and now I have the ability to watch 12 games of my choosing without any hiccup.

Again it’s puzzling why YouTube Tv took so long to do this but sports fans should be ecstatic. I’m still old enough to remember local blackouts on TV, the NCAA Tournament showing games to regional markets only on CBS, and the NFL only having local games and no Redzone. Its been forever since those times, so we take all these benefits for granted, but having lived in those times it reminds you to be grateful for just how many games we can watch and more so how easy it is to watch them.

Still not positive when this feature rolls out fully but it looks like we did it baby! YouTube TV for the win.
