The Eagles Should 100% Hire Ron Rivera To Be Their New Defensive Coordinator

A no-brainer at any cost! The Eagles are in complete disarray right now, as Smitty just detailed in his blog. But one way to fix it...no...the ONLY way to fix it is to bring in Ron Rivera to run the defense. Numbers never lie and it's clear as day, the last time Ron Rivera was a full time defensive coordinator he had the number 1 defense in the league. So my question honestly is, what is taking them so long to get this deal done. The guy is a hot commodity on the coaching market and the Eagles should want to get pen to paper ASAP before someone else swoops in. The Eagles front office should be wining and dining ol' Ron, begging him to take the position. 

It's unfortunate that Ron struggled as the head coach of the Commies. But perhaps there was too much on the table for him. I think the Eagles owe it to him to give him 3 years to turn that defense around. Maybe he can bring Jack Del Rio with him to coach the secondary. All hands on deck operation sort of thing. Do the right thing, Philly, and give the Riverboat one last toot of the horn.
