Apple TV's Upcoming Godzilla Series 'Monarch: Legacy of Monsters' Just Dropped Its First Trailer And We May Have Appointment Television, Folks

I'm sure there's going to be a few people out there who think this is too much Godzilla considering we just got the official trailer for Toho's Godzilla: Minus One the other day. Well, that looks awesome and so does this. There's no such thing as too much Godzilla on my screen. Kurt and Wyatt Russell? John Goodman? Yes please.

Kinda love that the trailer doesn't give away any plot details. We know the Russell father-son tandem are playing the same character over multiple generations and that this will involve Skull Island. That's pretty much all we got and I'm fine with it. Just give me as minimal human dialogue as possible and all the destruction and carnage from the giant monsters as one can imagine.

There was a long period of my life where I thought the Matthew Broderick Godzilla movie was going to be it. Then boom 2014 rolls around and now we can't get enough of them. Over the next year alone we're getting this series, Toho's movie, and the next version of Godzilla/Kong.

Apple TV crushes basically anything they put out. Severance, Ted Lasso, Silo, Shrinking, The Morning Show —all bangers. Let's hopefully add another to the list on November 17th as the first two episodes of ten release.

Just look at this beauty. I cannot wait.

P.S. Before I leave you I wanted to clear something up. My last Godzilla blog I may have led on that I didn't like the 2014 movie. Anything with Godzilla I'm going to love, hell I even have a soft spot for the Broderick version. That said, the trailer made that movie look like it was going to be unbelievable, but the humans just had way too much screen time. It was cool how dramatic they built up the Zilla scenes, but I left wanting so much more.
