Toho's Upcoming Blockbuster 'Godzilla: Minus One' Released Its First Full Trailer, And It Looks Like They Perfectly Captured The OG Horror And Devastation From 1954

Trailer w/ subtitles

After a summer of awesome movies, it kinda feels like we're tapering off big time over the next few months. Luckily, Godzilla: Minus One arrives in December to save cinema once again. The teaser for this dropped back in July, but now we've got the full length trailer to feast our eyes on.

I don't know about you, but that whole clip gave me 1954 OG vibes and I'm very much in. While I don't hate the Legendary Pictures version of Godzilla, there's something about the classic take that'll never get old. He's not a hero, but instead a menace to society. Godzilla is a walking extinction level event. He's a metaphor for nuclear devastation. He's a bad mamma jamma not to be trifled with.

The premise surrounding this version is that he pops up after the Hiroshima bombings with Japan at its lowest following the nuclear fallout. Godzilla, seemingly bothered by the blasts, decides to take it out on whatever remains from the devastation and sends Japan from zero to minus one. Basically this is the sequel to Oppenheimer and looks to be very dark. If you're looking for a movie to lift up your spirits in preparation for the holiday season, don't see this. If you want carnage, death, and brutality? Say no more.

Apocalypse Godzilla is here and I cannot wait.

I'm just hoping this one itself lives up to what it leads on. I have faith in Toho.

The 2014 Legendary Pictures trailer gave me similar vibes, but the movie just didn't get us there. Still a great trailer.
