Amazing News: Damar Hamlin Has Been Fully Cleared To Resume Football Activities

January 2 was when Damar Hamlin collapsed to the turf at Paycor Stadium in Cincinnati and needed CPR to be revived. Hamlin's collision with Tee Higgins and the eerie aftermath really was one of the most surreal "Where were you when?" moments in sports history. All the hype and anticipation about the Bills-Bengals Monday night game quickly shifted to universal concern for Hamlin's well-being.

To see Hamlin barely over three months later not only fully recovered, not only cleared for football activities, but participating in the start of Buffalo's offseason program is hard to believe. And I mean that in the best way. No one would fault Hamlin for walking away from football after such an unfathomable experience. It says a lot about his passion for the sport and, frankly, how much courage he has just to go out there again.

Obviously medical professionals wouldn't clear Hamlin if they thought he was more at risk for another life-threatening injury than anyone else who steps on the gridiron. Nevertheless, we can't underestimate the mental fortitude it has to take for Hamlin to suit up and be willing to put himself on the line considering what he went through.

Bills assistant athletic trainer Denny Kellington gave Hamlin CPR on the field and was critical to saving his life, as were those responsible for his care at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

Hamlin stated publicly multiple times that his goal was to continue playing football. As remarkable as his recovery has been to this point, you'd think he'd take some additional time away from the game to weigh his options. It's clear this guy has a totally different mindset. All the best wishes to Damar Hamlin as his football career continues far sooner than most people could've imagined.
