Author Susan Meachen And Her Family Decided To Fake Her Death To Increase Book Sales - Turns Out, She's Alive!

Alright so I'm not dead either but, if we as a society are just going to do batshit insane things like convince ourselves FAKING SUICIDE for clout is a completely reasonable thing to do then I wanted to make sure I got my moment in the sun as well. 

This woman/author Susan Meachen was supposed to have died two years ago of a suicide due to "bullying in the online book community." Completely reasonable story - people are pretty fucking mean online and unfortunately, this happens a lot. Of course no one really questioned it. But...now she's alive again? And posting her regrets about "what her family felt was right to do?" 5-1-5-0, babes, someone get the police in the mix and cart these people off to the looney bin f'real. 

I'm absolutely stunned. Obviously its a little complicated, clearly this woman Susan is mentally ill and it sounds like she needed a break from the internet to get her mind right again. Don't we all! But, to fake your own death? Worse even, her DAUGHTER decided to fake her own mother's death? Does she even actually have a daughter? Now we enter one of my most frequented realms, "I don't know what is real, and what is fake."

What pisses me off is when people do things like this I feel like it takes away from the seriousness of online abuse and mental health. It's one thing to make dark jokes and write your own fake obituary, but to actually follow through with a full death announcement, a post mortem book release (complete with the heartstring pull of "I wanted it out for my daughter's wedding!") so the trolls on Twitter would turn sympathetic? Feel guilty, even? Guilty enough to...buy your book? AND, she comes back from the dead with a, "Let the fun begin" ???? I'm praying by tomorrow we're all going to see that this woman's page was hacked and this was all a sick joke. 

If not, I see your game Susan and family, and it's gross. I hope they all get the help they desperately need because we can't have people coming back from the dead like this. Only Steve Jobs and Tupac are allowed to do that.
