Lost In Last Night's Baker Mayfield Magic Was The Raiders Upgrading From Gut Punching Losses To Nut Punching Losses During Their Season From Hell

I would've started this blog off with a trigger warning for Raiders fans considering how gruesome those tweets were. But there is no chance any Raiders fan is going near a highlight, sports site, or reading a blog about their team. I don't think you even get out of bed or acknowledge the existence of football if you root for the silver and black. Your weekend and your 2023 offseason both began on December 9, 2022. So numb the pain with your favorite vice and play Christmas music until it doesn't hurt anymore.

As a Mets/Knicks/Giants fan, I've lived through some fucked up seasons. But the 2022 Raiders are a special brand of misery. Losing is one thing. Losing embarrassing games is another. Losing embarrassing games then getting your hopes up for an improbable playoff run thanks to a three game winning streak a season after you went on a magical run to the playoffs then having those hopes crushed by a QB on his third NFL team in a year completing a last second comeback on you roughly 48 hours after he joined said team is flat out criminal.

As is usually the case in games like this, there will be one player that will live in infamy to the losing fanbase for fucking up massively in the biggest of spots. Congrats on making every Raiders fans shit list for life, Jerry Tillery!

I would say to hug any Raiders fans that you know today. But instead I would just not say a word to them and let them grieve in quiet. Unless they bust your balls and use your tears for lube whenever your favorite team loses. In that case, feel free to pour as much salt in the fresh wound as you want.

I also don't think Derek Carr should get behind a microphone anytime soon while Josh McDaniels is truly testing out the report that the Raiders are too poor to fire his ass to the absolute limit before heading back to the Pats, as Jerry masterfully detailed here.

At least Mark Davis had fun with a fellow legend!
