The Offensive Play Calling In Yesterday's Tie vs the Giants Was So Bad It Cost The Commies A Very Winnable Game And Perhaps A Playoff Spot As Well

That picture says it all. It's so palpable how annoyed they are in that picture, and that speaks for me, the team, and the entire fanbase. Yesterday's game was SO winnable. I'm not being "Hot Take Nate", I'm not doing hyperbole, I'm not exaggerating- I think with better play calling on offense yesterday we could have won that game by 2, maybe even 3 TDs. That's how much better I think the Commies are than the Giants. But instead, it ended in a 20-20 tie that has left me completely…I don't even know the word for the feeling. It's some combination of annoyed, stunned, angry, and confused. It's that above picture.

I'm just going to type all my thoughts and get it all out there.

What annoys me the most is after going up 10-0, the offense took the foot off the gas. Not just that, but Scott Turner called not just a bad game, not just an awful game, but possibly the WORST game I've ever seen. What does he do when the running game is picking up 5 yards a carry? He starts throwing the ball. Additionally, Heinicke was getting murdered in the pocket all day, but he never moved the pocket. He just kept having Heinicke do 5 step drops and made him go through progressions like he's Patrick Mahomes. Guess what? He ain't. But for some reason Scott Turner wants to call a game like a god damn hero and make Heinicke do things he's not capable of instead of sticking to what works. We KNOW this team can win games by controlling the time of possession, eating clock, running the balls, and picking up first downs on 3rd and 1. Instead, Scott panicked and got away from what worked and it made no sense at all.

Furthermore, why isn't he using Antonio Gibson in space? Why isn't he using any play action whatsoever? And again, why aren't we playing to Heinicke's strengths instead of doing what works? It's so god damn bad.

And don't get me started on just how chicken shit Ron Rivera is now. First quarter, ball on the 3 yard line, and he kicked a field goal. This is with the playoffs basically on the line, on the road, and you kick a field goal from the 3? That is pathetic. Worst case is you turn the ball over and Daniel Jones is backed up to his end zone and has to go 97 yards. I'll take that trade-off any day. You have to coach to win a fucking football game. And then flash forward to OT. Curtis Samuel gets us 5 yards from FG range:

And the result of that drive was a PUNT. It's about as bad as it gets.

There is no excuse to lose yesterday's game. The defense showed up and did their job as they've done 8 weeks in a row. Daron Payne by the way is the best player on the field, what an animal.

If we don't make the playoffs I will point to yesterday's tie as the reason why. Good teams win that game. Great teams blow the Giants out. We tie. As fun as the second half of the season has been, it just shows there is still a long way to go. Sigh.

PS: Fuck Dan Snyder forever.
