Forecaster Frank NFL Picks Week 2

Last week it was a disappointing 8-8, as I went winless after an 8-2 start, losing all late starts on Sunday and the Monday Night game. Hoping for a better Week 2.

Thursday Night

KC -4 (o/u 54.5)

Chiefs 37 Chargers 30

The Chiefs came out and smoked the Cardinals on the road on Sunday and come home for a Thursday night opener. When these teams play, the games turn into shootouts. Expect that trend to continue as Patrick Mahomes lights up the Charges again.

Sunday at 1

Mia +3.5 (o/u 44.5)

Ravens 16 Dolphins 13

The Dolphins had an impressive defensive effort against the Patriots last week; if not for a phantom illegal contact, they could have had a shutout. Tua Tagovaioa could have played better but did enough to win. This game will be more challenging for Miami, as a low-scoring game will come down to Justin Tucker.

Cle -6 (o/u 40)

Browns 24 Jets 13

The Browns had an emotional win over their former quarterback Baker Mayfield and return home to take on the Jets, who are barely getting off the ground with Joe Flacco starting as Zach Wilson will not return until October.

Det -2 (o/u 48.5)

Lions 27 Commanders 17

The Lions are favored to win for the first time in nearly two years. They lost to the Eagles but played well in the opener. Expect them not to disappoint as they get a solid win that will have fans thinking about the payoffs.

Jax +4 (o/u 46.5)

Jaguars 23 Colts 20

The Jaguars have the Colts' number when it comes to games in Duval. They have not won in Jacksonville since 2014. This includes the past two seasons in which the Jaguars have won four games, two of which are against the Colts. The Colts' hang-up in Jacksonville continues as the Jaguars get their first win of the season.

NO +2.5 (o/u 44.5)

Saints 23 Buccaneers 16

Since Tom Brady sailed into Tampa, the Buccaneers have had issues with the Saints in the regular season. They have won a playoff game against New Orleans but are winless in the regular season.

NYG -2 (o/u 43.5)

Giants 25 Panthers 12

Expect the Giants to get a boost from their crowd after starting the season with a comeback win in Nashville. The Panthers meanwhile suffered a disappointing home loss, as Baker Mayfield again gave critics fuel, as he came up small against his former team. Look for a big game by the Giants as they improve to 2-0 with a steady diet of Saquan Barkley driving the offense.

Pit +2 (o/u 40)

Steelers 23 Patriots 9

The Steelers' defense showed they are among the best in the NFL as they stole a win in Cincinnati, despite losing T.J. Watt to an injury. The Patriots, meanwhile, wilted in the heat of Miami. Their offense had trouble moving the ball and will again struggle as the Steelers get the win in their home opener.

Sunday Late Games

LAR -10.5 (o/u 47)

Rams 37 Falcons 11

The reigning Super Bowl champions got punched in the nose by the Bills in the Thursday opener. Look for a bounce back; expect the Rams to roll on both sides of the ball as they quickly take down the Falcons.

SF -9 (o/u 41.5)

49ers 31 Seahawks 12

The 49ers suffered a stunning loss in the rain, while the Seahawks got a win thanks to a coach with no brain. The Niners should bounce back at home as they run circles around the Seahawks in their home opener.

Cin -8 (o/u 41)

Bengals 24 Cowboys 9

When building their team roster, the Cowboys forgot about getting themselves a backup quarterback. Dak Prescott broke his thumb and will be out for at least six weeks. The Cowboys will now rely on Copper Rush as they host the Bengals. Things could get ugly in Dallas fast.

Den -10 (o/u 45)

Broncos 30 Texans 17

The Broncos lost a game in Seattle on Monday night, as  Nathaniel Hacket had the worst debut of a head coach in NFL history. If things go bad for the Broncos, the fans will turn on him quickly in the home opener. The Texans, however, don't have the ability to make this once close as the Broncos get a good home win.

LV -5.5 (o/u 51.5)

Raiders 31 Cardinals 13

The Raiders came out flat and lost to the Chargers, while the Cardinals were boat raced by the Chiefs. The Cardinals' defense is beaten up, and their offense is out of sync. Look for the Raiders to hit the jackpot in their home opener, as they win the game with ease.

Sunday Night

GB -10 (o/u 49)

Packers 37 Bears 9

The Bears started the season with a win in the slop, as the Packers were sloppy in a loss in Minnesota. Expect Aaron Rodgers to rebound as he torments the Bears again. Maybe when he retires, he can buy the Bears, as he owns them on the field.

Monday Night

Buf -10 (o/u 49)

Bills 37 Titans 13

The Titans held a 13-0 lead last week and went into a shell against the Giants at home last week. The Bills, meanwhile, went into LA and demolished the defending champions despite having four turnovers. The Bills mafia will go through tables in the tailgate as Buffalo slams the Titans during the game.

Phi -2 (o/u 51)

Eagles 24 Vikings 20

The Eagles' offense was impressive in Detroit last week, and are looking to go 2-0 with a home win on Monday night. The Vikings also had a strong showing against the Packers. However, it is Monday night and Kirk Cousins never wins on Monday night.
