Decent Run For Shane Lowry: Became The First Person In Over 20 Years To Have Back-To-Back Eagles At The Open

Well that's one way to start your weekend. Dude loves playing at The Open, winning it in 2019 and putting up a decent score so far today. He also became the first person in over 20 years to go back-to-back eagles.

[Source] - Lowry, the 2019 Open champion at Royal Portrush, had consecutive chip-in eagles on Nos. 9 and 10, both par-4s. He became the first player in 21 years to have back-to-back eagles in The Open; Phil Mickelson did it on consecutive par-5 holes at Royal Lytham in 2001.

Little different chipping it in on the Old Course than hitting back-to-back par 5s. Way more impressive if you ask me. It's been a weird Saturday so far. A bunch of dudes going low, starting with Kisner early. He even said he expected mayhem in the late group:

He's right so far. No one has beat his 65 so far. 17s also been a bitch to say the least.

Basically a par on that hole and you feel like you're gaining a stroke on everyone. Earlier today it was something like the first 29 people to play it didn't get on in regulation. Always fun to hear.

Anyways, shout out Shane Lowry. Easy dude to cheer for. He did start coming back to life after those eagles with a bogey on 12 and 15. Ridiculous to go back-to-back like that though.
