Jayson Tatum Wins The Inaugural Larry Bird Award Which Should Officially Shut His Haters Up For Good

It's only fitting that a Boston Celtic wins the inaugural Larry Bird Trophy. Would have been nice to get it in front of their own fans, but this works too. I spent a lot of time these last few days wondering who I would give this award to should the Celts pull out the series. There were so many worthy candidates you couldn't choose wrong. Obviously Tatum/Brown are who most think of, but what about Al? He was huge. Rob made a huge impact when he was healthy and on the floor. But after Tatum's 26/10/4 and huge buckets down the stretch, this works for me. He's the franchise guy, this is part of the benefits that come with it. You get all the pressure, but when you win, you get all the awards. My hope now is that Jaylen uses this as motivation and he wins Finals MVP. That sure would be swell.

I'm still shaking man. I haven't had any idea what any of this or the last blog says. That's the beauty of Game 7 Day when things work out how you want. Just look at Al man, LOOK AT AL

I'm also so happy for Tatum too. So many people say he doesn't have the "IT" factor. That he can't come through in the biggest moments. RIPIP to those takes. You know when that stops? When you win the Larry Bird Trophy. All Tatum does is things that tie him to Larry Bird. He's becoming a generational Celtic right before our eyes and it's better than I ever imagined.

It still hasn't sunk in yet. Maybe that's because it's been like 10 minutes, but they really did it. Tatum and Brown came through and now Tatum gets to add more hardware to his trophy case. This team man, this team fucks. They've had this weird team of destiny vibe for the last 5 months, and they have taken out each of their playoff demons, Tatum especially. He outdueled KD. He outdueled Giannis. He outdueled Playoff Jimmy Butler. Now comes Steph & Co. Normally that would be terrifying, but they also have to stop Tatum, and so far nobody has been able to do it.

I love this team. I love you all. LET'S HAVE A FUCKING NIGHT
