Whoever Runs The San Jose Sharks Jumbotron Deserves To Be In The Hart Trophy Conversation

I put this at the end of my blog about Vegas earlier today, but I just keep going back to it and can't believe whoever runs the Jumbotron at the SAP Center was able to pull this one off.

This guy only gets 41 chances per season to do something special. And you figure with the Sharks getting eliminated from playoff contention 2 weeks ago that they'd just be mailing it in to close out the last home game of their season last night. Final game at home until October, you figure most of the arena staff is clearing out their desks and getting ready for the offseason. But Jumbotron guy didn't hear no bell. He's not going down that easily. He's got one last play to make out there and it just so happens that it was the Jumbotron play of the year.

The biggest question here was whether or not this was a solo effort. You think our guy just went rogue with this one? Maybe had that play call stashed away in the back pocket for a few weeks now and realized it was now or never? Do you think it was a team effort? Just snapping the ideas around like a crispy powerplay? Would love to get the oral history on this one at some point. But in the meantime, the San Jose Sharks Jumbotron operator is right up there with McDavid, Huberdeau and Gaudreau.
