Drafting the Animal Species You'd Pick to Have on Your Side in a War

On this week's Macrodosing, we went drafting. Not only did we draft the countries we'd want on our side in World War III — being pretty liberal with the word "country" — but we also each selected a species to have on our side in battle. That's right, you get four nations of your choice, assuming they don't have nuclear weapons, as well as every single one of any animal you want.

Billy went classic Bill, taking ants because they have the "largest biomass" of any species in the world. I'm not even sure if that's true, but more power to him and his ant army regardless. My immediate first thought was tigers, but there are only 13,000 left in the world, a majority of whom are in captivity. There are 20,000 lions, however, and I'll take my chances with them.

Coley went with a good under-the-radar pick in spiders. Kind of the same logic as Billy with the ants, except there are all sorts of spiders which will end you with one bite. There are also 21 quadrillion of them. Not a bad volume play.

PFT went through the air with eagles, adding a nice change of pace to the equation. You're going to have to keep your eyes on the land and air against his battalion. And in true Arian fashion, he chose orcas to surround a mythical island he created in this scenario because he "doesn't fuck with animals." Local dog hater who claims your pups will eat you alive is going with killer whales. Someone explain that one to me.
