The Photographer Who Fell Off The Stage At The Rams Parade In Front Of Matt Stafford Has A Fractured Spine And 2 Broken Cameras

The above was the most viral moment of the Rams Super Bowl "parade". A photographer fell off the stage and Matt Stafford did the "Homer Simpson into the bushes" gif in real life. He was like yep, wayyyyy too drunk for this right now. So everyone clowned on Stafford for doing literally as little as possible to help in that situation, rightfully so. I mean I know he's no doctor and his BAC likely resembled a GPA, but still...you gotta at least check on the young lady for a hot second. Anything at all!

As it turns out, her name is Kelly Smiley (unreal name for a photographer. Like Chris Moneymaker being a poker player. Fate.) and she was injured in the fall.

You have to believe Matt Stafford feels like an asshole today seeing this. In his defense, he is Frat Stafford, not Matthew William Stafford III, MD. Like Ryan wiping down the microwave, I believe anything Matt Stafford could have done there would have only made it worse. And there were plenty of other people around to help her, so I hope he doesn't beat himself up too much. Terrible optics, for sure, but at the end of the day maybe someone a little more sober was the correct person to help her.

You also have to believe Stafford, the Rams, the City of LA, or all 3 will very generously take care of her. There's currently a GoFundMe, but I'd be stunned if her medical bills, cameras, and all else weren't paid for by the Rams. If they don't I hope she sues them for 3 trillion dollars.
