If You Aren't Rooting For Chris Paul To Make His First NBA Finals Then You Have A Gigantic Dump In Your Pants

The Suns won a rock fight in Game 4 to find themselves up 3-1 in the WCF. This series has been so close that it could easily be the Clippers who are up 3-1. Shit, if Paul George makes some FTs that's probably where we're at. Game 4 was filled with iffy noncalls that really boned the Clippers, whether it was this blatantly missed call with Terance Mann in a huge spot

That's about as clear a foul as you'll see, only it wasn't called. Then there was this play in the closing seconds which was the exact same play they reviewed with Devin Booker earlier in the series, yet for some reason this was not reviewed

If you're going to be consistent with this, you have to review it and that review would have given the Clippers the ball.

Now, even with all that, the Clippers still had their chances so I'm going to to cry for them, they also got some iffy calls to go their way late as well, but I could understand being a Clipper fan and thinking you got boned last night. But that's the thing when you're playing a team of destiny. From the Valley Oop to a questionable whistle down the stretch of a pivotal Game 4, that's the shit that happens for a team when fate very well may be on their side.

But back to Chris Paul. You can see 2015 still haunts him to this day. While it wasn't a 3-1 situation, I'm sure the same is true for his Rockets tenure. This isn't the first time Paul has been 1 win away from the NBA Finals, he's just had some shit ass luck. As a reminder, Chris Paul has the most All Star appearances, All NBA selections, and career playoff points by a player who has never made an NBA Finals. That's pretty crazy, and at this point unless you're a Clippers fan I'm not sure how you could not want him to make it. Shit, for everything he did as a Clipper they probably should want it too. Now that he's on a team that has a legit shot at winning the whole thing, which would be their first ever title, what a Finals debut that would be.

Paul entered the NBA in 2005. He's been one of the best point guards in the league basically since the day he arrived. He's gotten close only to see it slip away time and time again. What he has done not only on the floor as a player, but as someone who has helped develop all the young stars around him

has been just as important to their success. This is the first playoff run for Ayton and Devin Booker and they have been incredible. You don't often see that from guys making their first run ever in the postseason. More often than not, they struggle.

Now the Suns return home for Game 5 with a spot in the NBA Finals on the line. Remember, Paul didn't play in either Game 1 or 2 so it'll be the first WCF game at home for him. While Ty Lue has experience coming back from 3-1, LeBron James is not walking through that door. Kawhi Leonard is not walking through that door. While this series has been so fun I wouldn't hate if it got extended, I also can't shake the feeling that the Suns are this year's team of destiny.

This has been a dream season for PHX, but it's not about getting 1 win away from the Finals. Now is not the time to play with your food. Close this out, get rest, and an NBA championship will be within reach.
