BREAKING: The Pacers Are Bringing Back Rick Carlisle As Head Coach

Speak it into existence!!!

I am over the moon about this. Bringing Rick back to hopefully finish some unfinished business from 15 years ago. The man led the best Pacers teams arguably in the history of the franchise in the early 2000's that unfortunately got derailed and then some by the infamous Malice at the Palace.

As soon as I saw he told the Mavericks he's bouncing I just had a feeling there was something there. It all coincided right around when Bjorkgren was getting bounced from his one-and-done.

Dude has won a championship, beating LeBron and co. in the process, and his players always seem to rave about him.

I think what I love most about this hire besides the nostalgia of it all is you go from absolutely 0 experience shit show in Bjorkgren to established head coach of 20 years with a championship ring on his mantle. Complete 180 from the last hire. Will it be overcorrection? Maybe. But after the bullshit memory-less season that was last year, I'm perfectly thrilled with Carlisle coming back to Indiana.

The "go against the grainers" who won't be excited about this hire will say he hasn't won anything since 2011, and it's a retread hire. They'll want a hire like Chauncey Billups (who I wouldn't have totally been against) but right now the franchise can't afford another high risk high reward coach. They need some stability. Some experience, both on the court and in the locker room.

Yep, yep, and yep. As they should! A healthy lineup of Brogdon, LeVert, Sabonis, and Turner is young, long, can defend, and can score.

Now just make sure you get everyone healthy, Men In Black 2020-2021 from our minds, and go to battle in the East.
