Eagles HC Nick Sirianni Recovered From This Botched Fist Bump Like A Seasoned Vet

Nick Sirianni is running his first OTA's as the head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles. I can't imagine how many people out there would be envious of the situation he's stepping in. Coming in to an organization that is still only 3 years removed from a Super Bowl but have already canned their SB winning head coach and traded away who they thought was their franchise quarterback. I think most people expect the Eagles to stink next season but that doesn't mean that the pressure isn't on for Sirianni right away. The moment the fans in this city start to smell blood in the water, they pounce at the chance to run a guy out of town.

So for Nick Sirianni to come out to OTA's and recover from this initial failed fist bump like this?

There are very few instances in life that are more awkward than when one guy goes in for a fist bump and the other sets up for a handshake. Typically that situation results in both parties switching their hand gesture to accommodate for the other. The guy who goes fist bump then goes for handshake, the guy who went for shake then goes for the knucks. And then they manage to compound their mistakes and double up the awkwardness of the situation.

Nick Sirianni don't play no games when it comes to bumpin' knucks, though. There was a split second when he thought about switching it up and going for the dap, but then he realized that he needs to be the alpha in this dynamic. He doesn't switch up his stance, he has to make others adapt to him. So he pulls the fist away until that dork is ready for a bump sesh. Then he just keeps it pushing down the line.

You want to inspire a little hope and confidence in your fanbase? That's how it's done right there, folks. Textbook recovery from Coach. 13-4 here we come.
