Only Joey Votto Could Turn A Triple Play This Strange

Joey Votto really loves the spotlight, eh? Earlier this week I talked about “Joey Moppo“ being the most interesting person in baseball, last night he was wearing a teammates high school football jersey for his press conference, and today he’s turning a triple play. Mr. Votto is hot this week.

He makes a hell of a grab off the bat, basically dives right into the runner on first as he’s trying to get back to the bag and tags him for out #2, and after he pops up he still has the wits about him to check if the runner left third to soon. So naturally he tosses the ball across the diamond and boom, left too early and that’s the third out. A very unconventional triple play but I wouldn’t expect anyone else to have pulled it off. Love the celebration by him too. He just saved a run in a close game, he’s fired up. Have a week, Joey Votto.
