Need Something To Watch This Weekend? Here Are 10 Movies You Should Stream

1. About Time - Netflix

This is by no means a top movie, but I love it. One of the all time "Mannnnn i gotta call my dad" type joints.

"At the age of 21, Tim discovers he can travel in time and change what happens and has happened in his own life. His decision to make his world a better place by getting a girlfriend turns out not to be as easy as you might think."

2. Lawless - Netflix

Lawless doesn't get the love it deserves. Tom Hardy, Guy Pearce, Jessica Chastain and a solid crime story build around them. Take a look below.

Set in Depression-era Franklin County, Virginia, a trio of bootlegging brothers are threatened by a new special deputy and other authorities angling for a cut of their profits.

3. Extraction - Netflix

Extraction fucking rules. It comes from Sam Hargrave who is a longtime stuntman and second unit director for a bunch of blockbuster movies you are familiar with. He is a big fan of new-wave action and it rules. Extraction doesn't reinvent the wheel, but it is cool ass action.

"Tyler Rake, a fearless black market mercenary, embarks on the most deadly extraction of his career when he's enlisted to rescue the kidnapped son of an imprisoned international crime lord."

4. Ted - HBO Max

In a lackluster decade of comedies, Ted stands out as being one of the better ones. The absurd premise and mix of family guy humor with traditional comedy formatting was hilarious.

"John Bennett, a man whose childhood wish of bringing his teddy bear to life came true, now must decide between keeping the relationship with the bear, Ted or his girlfriend, Lori."

5. Bram Stoker's Dracula - HBO Max

This freaky horror movie fucking rules. The performances (specifically from Oldman and Hopkins) were incredible and I love the production design. It's very much a gothic, operatic vibe so keep that in mind.

"The centuries old vampire Count Dracula comes to England to seduce his barrister Jonathan Harker's fiancée Mina Murray and inflict havoc in the foreign land."

6. Escape From NY - HBO Max

This is one of my favorite pre 90's action bangers, and a lot of that has to do with Kurt Russell being the fucking MAN in the role of Snake Plissken. Some people might think it's corny 80s, but I think it's cool 80's.

"In 1997, when the U.S. president crashes into Manhattan, now a giant maximum security prison, a convicted bank robber is sent in to rescue him."

7. Palm Springs - Hulu

This was one of my favorite movies of last year. It took a time-loop concept, which you might think is unique, and did it extremely well. Great rom-com work and great performances from Samburg, Milioti and Simmons.

"Stuck in a time loop, two wedding guests develop a budding romance while living the same day over and over again."

8. Ingrid Goes West - Hulu

If you are a fan of black comedy, this is for you. Its weird as all shit and Aubrey Plaza is in her bag in this movie (as is Elizabeth Olsen).

"An unhinged social media stalker moves to LA and insinuates herself into the life of an Instagram star."

9. Mom and Dad - Hulu

I remember when I went into this movie, I thought "Ahhh its another one of those movies where Cage is gonna scream like crazy and do crazy stuff". Well, it is and he does. BUT IT WORKS. Really well, in fact!

"A teenage girl and her little brother try to survive a wild 24 hours during which a mass hysteria of unknown origins causes parents to turn violently on their own children."

10. I Saw the Devil - Prime Video

Check out my blog on crime thrillers if you get the chance to see why you should watch this.

"A secret agent exacts revenge on a serial killer through a series of captures and releases."
