Rory McIlroy Is Inventing New Ways To Get Wet

Remarkable. Last time we saw Rory McIlroy, he was double-crossing balls into the drink on his way to finish with a quad on Sawgrass' 18th hole.

Now he's inventing new ways to get wet. There's not even water on this hole and somehow he found a way to go for a dip.

All of this surely ties into his (failed) mission to chase Bryson Dechambeau's speed, which I wrote about 2 weeks ago

Rory McIlroy can do damn near anything, but trying to match the club speed of a guy with 5 inches and 40+ lbs on him was pretty damn ambitious. He's got one of the best swings the game has ever seen, but tinkering with it was clearly a mistake. Now he's 2 weeks out from yet another shot at that elusive green jacket to complete the career grand slam, but he seems worlds away from where he needs to be to get that done. At the moment he's 3DN to Ian Poulter midway through his opening round at the Dell Match Play, a pick I touted in my preview last night. If he doesn't figure it out quick, it's going to be an early weekend for ol Rors and he's a guy who definitely needs the reps. Stay tuned.
