We have been open for 21 years, operating on the "wants" of our area, not the needs. People want to buy something to make themselves, or someone else feel good - whether it be cosmetics, candles, clothing, etc. The people that walk through the door are more than just customers, they are friends. We know the names of their children and grandchildren, where their last vacation was, and what their favorite products are. The women that work at Ruby's Balm are family. We have all been working together for anywhere from 9 years to 20 years. We were forced to shut down in March of 2020 per the governor's order - and because it was right to do for the health and well-being of our customers and staff. We were closed for three months. Now we operate on limited hours because the foot traffic just isn't there. People don't need makeup to wear every day to go into the office, gifts to take to someone's home for a dinner party, a little something to take to a lunch outing. People are afraid to venture out (and rightfully so), and our business is down significantly.
