Andy Dalton & The Cowboys Play Cincinnati, And It’s A HUGE Game For Both Teams

It’s been a very bad week to be a Cowboys fan, and not just because Dallas got its teeth kicked in on a Covid-filled Tuesday night by the Ravens and have to turn around and play again in just five days.

The big news this week is that NBC just announced that they have ZERO interest putting Dallas’ shitty football product out on primetime. So instead of Cowboys Niners on SNF, we’re getting Browns vs Giants.

Think about that. The Browns playing the 5-7 NY Giants is more intriguing than America’s team playing a squad that was just in the Superbowl last year. And people are NOT happy.

The anger isn’t really about the Cowboys not playing in prime time, but that shit has gotten so bad that it’s forced NBC’s hand.

That’s the first time in history that Dallas got flexed out of primetime at home. Which also means for the first time ever, there are no home Dallas game on primetime national TV.

I’m actually OK with the decision. Not only does it mean we won’t have to witness the Cowboys get massacred in front of a national audience, but now I’m going to get some actual sleep on a Sunday night.

But we still need to get through this Bengals match up this Sunday… where you have the 2-9-1 Bengals and the 3-9 Cowboys in a pillow fight duking it out for who will be able to draft Penei Sewell. Two of the most injury riddled teams in the NFL trying to see who can act like they’re tanking the least while still trying to subtly find a way to lose.

The big national story will be the return of Andy Dalton to Cincinnati. YAWN. There is literally nothing more boring than the whole, “playing old team chip on his shoulder” story line. Dalton played nine years in Cincinnati. Great. But Dalton just isn’t the kind of guy to hold a grudge. He barely noticed when his luggage fell off his truck, what makes anyone think he’s got a burning desire for revenge against the Bengals?

The Bengals’ 2020 season is like one of those horrible live action Cinderella remakes on ABC, a train wreck you can’t take your eyes off until, you know, it actually blows up. For about half the season, they were the belle of the ball with Joey Burrow getting better every game and the team actually causing excitement across the NFL. Then, in typical Bengals fashion, a catastrophic injury to Joey B turned the carriage back into a shit pumpkin and we all went back to not caring about them any more.

That being said? They might beat the Cowboys on Sunday, even though Miami almost murdered backup QB Brandon Allen last weekend and he’s questionable to go this Sunday.

Of course I’m hoping Dallas loses this weekend. Been saying that since Week 4. The Bengals are the only team that stands in the way of the Cowboys drafting a player that everyone is salivating for. A left tackle to replace Tyron Smith who more than likely will retire at the end of this season.

So in a way, this is the most important game of the season for Dallas. The Bengals have the Steelers, Texans, and Ravens so that’s three more losses. The only chance the Cowboys have of finishing behind them and in a place to draft Sewell is if they lose on Sunday.

Cowboys are currently favored by 3.5 in Cincy. YIKES. The good news? Dallas is 1-7 in their last 8 games as road favorites.

Prediction: Cincinnati 21 Dallas 16 (HAMMER the under)
