Never Deep Fry A Frozen Turkey, Taking You Into The Weekend

I love all you guys. Even if some of you are mean to me, I care about you all. So the last thing I want is for one of you to attempt to fry up a delicious little bird for your friends on family tomorrow, only to end up setting your entire home ablaze.

It should be common knowledge at this point, but still happens all the dang time. Folks pick up a frozen turkey, think it's thawed "enough" to throw in the deep fryer, and end up sending a fireball into the atmosphere.

So if you're deep frying a turkey for the first time this year, make sure that bird is nice and dry. Make sure to throw your fist all the way up that cavity to make sure there aren't any spots that are still a little frozen. Because that ice is going to melt, it's going to evaporate, it's going to create steam, that steam is then going to cause the oil to boil over, that oil is going to catch fire, and now all of a sudden you have a massive fire on your hands. And if you were...somewhat less intelligent enough to try to deep fry a frozen turkey, chances are you'll then try to put that fire out with water. Don't do that.

Anyway, hope you beauties all have yourselves a great Thanksgiving tomorrow. And if you're looking to smoke your bird, might I suggest this method.
