Alright, calm down - calm down - it's just for a charity table read! (Sorry for this slight clickbait Kate production, ha ha.)

From Deadline:

Pete Davidson is taking on an iconic film character, James Stewart’s George Bailey. The Saturday Night Live actor and Maude Apatow, who recently starred together in The King of Staten Island, are reuniting for Ed Asner’s one-night-only live virtual celebrity table read of the 1946 holiday classic It’s A Wonderful Life, in which Aparow will portray Violet Bick.

They join an all-star cast that includes Mia Farrow, Ellie Kemper, Carol Kane, Ed Begley Jr., Diedrich Bader, Bill Pullman, Richard Kind, B.D. Wong, and Michael Shannon for the holiday event, slated for Sunday, December 13, 2020, 5:00 PM PT. Proceeds will benefit The Ed Asner Family Center, dedicated to promoting mental health and enrichment programs to special needs children and their families.

I realize it's not a full-out movie or anything but have to say, I'm still interested to see how Davidson takes on the role & hear how they wound up picking him. Sure, we've goofed on him for #ButtholeEyes among other things, but there's no denying he's a great talent.

Also, I've seen the original so many times over & over & after a while Jimmy Stewart yelling all the time gets real stressful. It's the Uncut Gems of Christmas films. I wouldn't hate falling asleep on the couch to a fresher version.

**Update: Frank The Tank saw this story in drafts & let me know he's sick & tired of remakes and that Hollywood needs to make something NEW. He followed this up with an excellent George Bailey impression which has me thinking he should be the fill-in for this table read:
