Robert Streb Beats Kevin Kisner With An Absolute Dart On The 2nd Playoff Hole To Win The RSM Classic

What an absolute dart to go out and win a tournament. You always want to see guys in playoffs go out and take it. Never want to see somebody make a mess of a hole and hand the other guy the tournament on a platter and Strebber made sure of that. Better yet (much to the chagrin of the Fore Play boys and myself and fellow Kisner 40/1 ticket holders), Streb found himself down a stroke with 2 holes to play and went out and made something happen:

This marks Streb's 2nd career win on Tour. His other win? This same very tournament, back in 2014 when this bad boy was called the McGladrey Classic. That was a life-changing win for him, as Strebber is your quintessential gritty player who grinds every year to stay on the main Tour. That maiden victory in November 2014 (during the 2015 season... it's confusing I know) came in his 3rd season on Tour and gave him a couple years of job security. He's since battled every year to retain his card, including going down into the Korn Ferry playoffs in 2018 to earn it back. This win is obviously massive for him as he can play loose and free for the next 2 years without that cloud hanging over his head. We'll see what he makes of it.

The one interesting thing that's notable to me about Streb is that he's damn near the only guy I can think of on Tour these days who plays bare-handed.

Jonathan Byrd has done it from time to time, but isn't fully committed to the gloveless life like Strebber. It's psychotic behavior for sure and I'm sure the fellas on Tour watch where they're going when he's around. God knows what his left hand looks like after a full week's work.

Anyways, kudos to Robert Streb on a helluva shot he'll always remember and on a huge win in his career. The Tour will take a couple weeks off and then head to Mexico for the Mayakoba. Be sure to tip your caddies over the Thanksgiving holiday and see you then.
