It's Morning In America For The USMNT Golden Generation

It starts today. This is the first day of a new era for USA Mens Soccer. A friendly against Wales during a Pandemic without Gareth Bale, but whatever. For the first time in my life, nay...anyone's life, it's realistic and good to be excited, legitimately excited, about USMNT. This isn't like any time in the past. This isn't "Oh wow, Michael Bradley came off the bench for Roma" or "holy shit, Landon Donovan scored a goal on loan with Everton". No. The United States has legitimate players on legitimate European World powers and they're all basically children. All of America's best players are under 23. That is usually the cut-off for Olympic competition..u-23.

That is just what the United States is rolling with because they're the best and brightest we have. It'll be Pulisic, Konrad, McKennie, Reyna, Dest, Adams, Robinson, Sargant and Weah in charge of chasing down the last great American sports story. The Red Sox won in 2004 and the Cubs won in 2016. America chasing down the World Cup on home soil with this generation of star is the last giant box to check and we can all get behind it. We can all embrace it. And we should start doing it right now. We should get to know these kids because they're going to be household names. People have been joking that American soccer is going to be the next big thing for as long as I can remember. "Oh this is the thing that will make soccer huge in the US"...and then people laugh and laugh. Well now it is actually here. It is actually true. I couldn't be more excited. I've always said that I wish I had a soccer team that I care about. I haven't been able to latch on to an EPL team. It doesn't feel authentic to me. I watch the EPL every weekend just because I like the sport and I am a morning person. Well, I do have a team on the international level. We all do. And for the first time ever they're about to be good and fun.

Get on board now because these types of moments don't happen very often and in the case of USA Mens soccer it has literally never happened. No Pulisic today, and it doesn't even really matter because America has so many compelling young studs. Makes me all tingly just to say that.
