Steelers Trade For Jets Linebacker Avery Williamson Over Night Making Him The Happiest Man On The Planet

Goooood morning Steelers Nation!

I was exhausted after the ultimate nail biter with Baltimore so I passed out fairly early last night and woke up to some great news although I don't think any of us could be happier than Avery Williamson himself. He gets out of the shit show Jets and right into the current number one seed in the AFC.

I love it.

And what makes it even better is that Robert Spillane and Ulysses Gilbert have shown they can play. They're not Devin Bush, but they haven't been a glaring weakness since Bush went down two weeks ago. It's just adding reinforcements for a team that is all in and at the moment on their best path to the Super Bowl they've ever had.

Williamson is a former teammate of Bud Dupree's at Kentucky. He's 28 years old and on the last year of his three year extension the Jets gave him back in 2018. 14.5 sacks and 4 INTs for his career.

Another piece to the number one defense in the NFL just before tomorrow's trade deadline.

Well done, Kevin Colbert.
