Another action-packed weekend of football is in the books. And with that, there are four more Football Guys searching for a reward unlike any other - Pardon My Take's Football Guy of the Week Award. Let's dive into our foursome of nominees:
Steelers TE Vance McDonald - Said he’ rather block all game than catch one ball
This is the epitome of a Football Guy mentality. Vance McDonald doesn't care about your fantasy team or getting into the end zone. He will do whatever it takes to win, and that includes blocks on blocks on blocks.
Notre Dame OT Liam Eichenberg - Continued to play in the Irish’s game vs. Florida State despite suffering a brutal eye injury
One major characteristic of being a Football Guy is grinding through adversity. And that is exactly what we saw here from this member of the Fighting Irish. Eichenberg and Notre Dame remain undefeated with three comfortable wins.
Georgia QB Stetson Bennett - After UGA’s win over Tennessee, he said, “I think we covered tonight, so that’s good.”
I imagine there are PLENTY of gamblers out there who fell in love with this quarterback after this quote. I can also imagine the behind the scenes action going on down in Athens of coaches and administrators telling Bennett to not talk about betting. The Bulldogs have their hands full with Alabama next week, which should obviously be an awesome game.
Panthers OC Joe Brady - Tweets “1-0” after every Carolina win, and nothing else since the season started
1-0 each week. That is the goal for each and every football team around the nation. But the fact that these tweets are the only thing on Coach Brady's timeline is awesome. They sure miss him down in Baton Rouge.
If you have your own football guy looks, we want to see them.
