Patti LeBelle And Gladys Knight Just Got Announced For The Next Verzuz Battle

Source - Gladys Knight and Patti LaBelle are set to square off against one another on the next episode of the Verzuz battle series, the show announced Tuesday.

Calling their upcoming showdown on Sunday at 5 pm PT/8 pm ET the "Master Class we’ve ALL been waiting for," the program's Twitter account insisted that viewers have "gotta get dressed up in ya Sunday’s best for this classic affair" between the two singers who, along with Dionne Warwick, previously collaborated on the hit “Sisters in the Name of Love.”

Before anyone gets upset about this...shut your mouth. Just shut it. You have no idea what you're talking about. Yeah, it was nice to see DMX and Snoop rattle off a few classics, but these two? These two right here? They've been belting out hits since before Snoop and DMX were twinkles in their fathers' eyes. The Empress Of Soul vs The Godmother Of Soul- sign me the fuck up. Here's a little refresher for those of you who still don't know who we're talking about...

Gladys...

Patti…

If you're still unsure, tune in on Sunday to find out. The songs are going to sound exactly like they did when they were first recorded a thousand years ago. It's called talent, sweetie. That said, I can only get excited about a soul-themed Verzuz battle once, so I hope it goes back to gangster rap after the fact. If it ain't broke don't fix it. Shout out to the queens of soul. Should be a good one. Now here's a clip of the moment Patti Labelle became a gay icon. Enjoy…
