Providence Wins The Frozen Four Courtesy of the Softest Goal In the History of Hockey

Providence didn’t just win the National Championship.   BU goalie Matt O’Connor lost it.   No other way to put it.   It was Bill Buckner on ice.  Just the softest, worst goal I’ve ever seen in my life.  I have no idea if this kid is supposed to be good or has a NHL career in front of him, but that goal will haunt him for the rest of his natural life.  Like I never feel bad for guys who choke or screw up in sports, but even I feel bad for this kid.  Maybe it’s because everybody who has ever put on the pads and stopped rubber for a living is part of brotherhood, but this was flat out brutal.  A once in a lifetime moment ruined by a once in a lifetime gaffe.   Congrats to the Friars, but pray for Matt O’Connor.

Tip of the hat to the NCAA guy for trying to make Matt O’Connor feel better by just butchering the shit out of the trophy presentation.
