Vince Carter Didn't Know Tracy McGrady Was His Cousin Until His Junior Year of College

I'm gonna be honest ... did anyone else know Vince Carter and T-Mac were cousins? Because this was certainly news to me. Although I feel like it's ok that I didn't know this, given Carter didn't even know until he was 20 years old.

It turns out they're actually step second cousins once removed — I also still have no idea what the "removed" business means — but still. One of the most exciting duos in the NBA in the late 1990s was actually a family dynasty. One of the great "what-ifs" in NBA history is what could have been if those two stuck around in Toronto and teamed up with Chris Bosh — and McGrady stayed healthy, of course. That could have been a squad that would have given the Shaq and Kobe teams a run for their money.

If we're counting this as a family pairing, I'm putting these two right up there with the Manning brothers, the Matthews family and all the other all-time great sports lineages. It's just a shame we never got to see T-Mac fully realize his potential and that these two were only together for a short period of time, but they still had enough time to put together a pretty sick highlight tape.
