Report Says Donovan Mitchell/Gobert Relationship Isn't 'Salvageable', Joe Ingles Mocks The Entire Report On Twitter With 'Source' Jokes

[The Athletic] - The Jazz have already begun working on the Mitchell-Gobert relationship, but sources say Mitchell remains reluctant to fix what might have been broken.

“It doesn’t appear salvageable,” one source with knowledge of the situation said.

There is hope that the relationship will improve over time, and the fact that there could potentially be a lot of time to sort things out could work in Utah’s favor.

“I’m confident our team is going to be totally fine,” Ingles said. “I heard Donovan’s response (on GMA), or whatever it was, to that question, and a part of that is on Donovan and Rudy to sort out if he’s frustrated with him or whatever. But I have no doubt when we go back to training, or when our season starts again, our team is going to be what we have been and what we are.

Alright so here we are 4 weeks and a few days removed from the night sports stopped. The night Rudy Gobert tested positive for Coronavirus and it was announced all over the place with every sporting event being put on hold. Truly one of those where were you moments.

This article just runs through the days and weeks before/after this all happened. It's a fascinating read but the real story is the quote from 'one source'. The fact that Donovan Mitchell/Rudy Gobert relationship doesn't appears to be salvageable because of how Gobert acted about it all. What makes his actions seems even more like a gigantic dickhead was Quin Snyder had a meeting to talk about coronavirus and educate everyone about it. That day was the day Gobert did this:

That said, Joe Ingles responded both in the article and to the article. Obviously he understands why Mitchell is frustrated and pissed off. Yes, it's very possible that Gobert had no idea he had coronavirus. But the fact is he still acted like a piece of shit with the touching of the mics and touching everything in the clubhouse. That's just being a jackass whether you're talking about a global pandemic or not. But this was Ingles response to the article:

Ingles cracks me up. The man just doesn't give a shit and is always cracking jokes. He also looks like a mid-level accountant that has been working for far too long without a raise but then busts your ass on the court. A new level of respect for someone like that.

Now that said, the Jazz need to figure out exactly what the hell is going on here. These are your two stars, but Mitchell is 100% the face of the franchise. You gotta mend them fences as quick as possible or if Mitchell can't take it anymore you gotta get Gobert out of there.
