Nick Wright Legitimately Saying Jayson Tatum Isn't Even A Star Yet Is A Gift From The Heavens

Sometimes when you may be a little down in the dumps the universe throws you a bone to let you know things are going to be just fine. Coming off the heartbreaking loss yesterday to the Lakers, I needed a pick me up today. Just something small to reinforce everything we think about this year's Celts team. Right on cue it came from the exact man you would expect, the #1 Celtics hater outside Sixers Twitter, Nick Wright. Watch that clip again and you can see how mad he is that the team he despises more than anything is way better than he thought. That the players he once shit on are way better than he thought. There are still a ton of questions around this team and what they can do in the postseason, but I am thankful that Nick Wright basically guaranteed Jayson Tatum's ascension into a superstar player. That's a lock after hearing these comments.

There are so many beautiful parts to that rant it's hard to pick a favorite. Talking like not dumping high value assets for Kawhi or Anthony Davis is a tale as old as time. Weird he didn't mention how those same players are turning into All Star players right before our eyes and both Kawhi/AD would have dipped after a year. That feels important. That MEM pick that he wants to discredit? Take a look at the Grizzlies schedule, that has a chance to be a mid lottery pick in a matter of weeks and can always still be moved. You want to dog the SAC pick? Well Romeo Langford shows as much promise as almost anyone taken ahead of him. He's probably the 4th best player taken in the first 13 picks, so not sure that's really a negative either.

This is what happens when the same old trolls are still trying to use the same old rationale when they are backed into a corner. Jayson Tatum is still a half leap away from being a star? He said that with a straight face. You know the All Star and potential Top 20 player RIGHT THIS SECOND still isn't a star. I mean that's just laugh out loud funny and I don't care who your favorite team is. You want to say he isn't on the superstar level I have no problem with that. I agree with you. But to say he isn't even a star yet just shows how much it pains Nick Wright that maybe the Celtics made the right decision holding onto these assets. You heard the man, Jayson Tatum is not taking the leap THIS YEAR to being a star in the NBA. He very well could make an All NBA team but nope, not a star.

This is confusing you see, because this is the same man who said this.....last season (watch at the 3 minute mark)

Whoops! Hate when things are on the internet that people can actually find to show how moronic this take is.

I'm personally someone who wants to reiterate how important is is to be patient when it comes to Tatum becoming a superstar. He's showing progress but it's silly to say he's there right now. But now after hearing Nick Wright unleash these takes, the possibility of it happening much much sooner is now the lock of the century. This was just what I needed to hear after yesterday's loss and before the playoffs start so thank you Nick Wright. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, this is the nicest thing you could have done.
