BREAKING: Ondrej Kase Has Been Traded To The Boston Bruins In Exchange For A 1st Round Pick, David Backes And A Prospect

and hereeee weeeee goooo!!! I had Ondrej Kase a sleeper pick in my trade deadline targets blog. Kase is coming to Boston in exchange for David Backes, the B's 1st round pick and prospect Axel Andersson. Holy shit. We heard rumblings of David Backes being on the move this morning but the fact that Don Sweeney was able to get out from his contract AND get a winger is huge. It sucks giving up the 1st but Toronto set the market this summer w/ Patrick Marleau. The winger had a career high 20 goals and 18 assists in 66 games back in 2017/2018, this year he has 7 goals, 16 assists for 23 points in 49 games. Name of the game for Kase is staying healthy. When he's healthy he can perform.

Kase has another year on his deal for a cheap at $2.6 million per year. It's a risk/reward play. I think he'll start with Krejci and Bruce Cassidy will go from there. I can see him playing up and down the lineup.

Sounds like the B's are retaining 25% which kinda stinks. A near perfect trade but alas. Backes is off the books and Don Sweeney can absolutely make another move to help this team. Let's get nuts.

p.s let's sign Torey Krug to an extension.

B's play tonight in Calgary. I don't believe Kase will suit up tonight, my best bet is he goes tomorrow night in Vancouver. Hasn't played since Feb 7th (illness) but practiced yesterday.

Ondrej Kase is a Boston Bruin and guess what? It's a great night to win a hockey game.
