Here Is Precisely Why Matthew Tkachuk Is The Greatest Rat In The NHL

Back in the first week of the 2019-20 season, I asked the question "Is Matthew Tkachuk The Most Elite Pest In The NHL?".

Naturally the Boston fans in the comments immediately rushed to the defense of their favorite scumbag of choice, Brad Marchand. But after everything that has gone down with the Battle of Alberta and now this deliciously crispy bardown tweener from last night, it's not even a question anymore. There is simply just an answer. Matthew Tkachuk is the sauciest rat in the NHL and it's not even close.

The balls to go for the move in the first place. The hands to elevate that up above the goalie's shoulder and right under the crossbar. The slightly understated celly that shows that he's been there, done that before. Because he has, just in case you forgot about this overtime winner against Nashville back in October.

And that's why you give a kid like Matthew Tkachuk 7 sheets per year. Because not only is he going to piss off entire cities with his mouth, but he'll also throw a dagger in them with his hands.

Marchand is great at what he does, don't get me wrong. I hate him with the passion of a thousand suns which just goes to prove how good he is at being a rat. But at 22-years-old and being an even bigger pain in the ass with an even silkier set of mitts? Matthew Tkachuk is the Rat King and it's his title to hold for at least the next 5-7.
