A Massive "SELL THE TEAM" Chant Raining Down From The Madison Square Garden Crowd Is Music To This Old Knicks Fan's Ears

If the Knicks aren't going to give us the type of basketball that warrants those magical MSG cheers and DE-FENSE chants that even the biggest New York haters can't deny hit just different than other arenas, these are the sounds I want to hear while the jumbotron tries to drown them out. James Dolan can't ban all these people out of Madison Square Garden for life, can he?

*Thinks about it for a second*

Okay, that is EXACTLY what we can do. But fuck it. If Knicks fans can't rally around supporting a good team, let them rally around hating a terrible owner. Somehow Dave Portnoy created a newspaper in a basement and built it up to a multimedia behemoth valued at $450 million over the last 17 years yet James Dolan cannot build a competent franchise for a stretch of more than a year or two with billions of dollars at his disposal. That is actually kind of impressive when you think about it. And by impressive I mean fucking infuriating to no end. Hopefully tonight is the beginning of Knicks fans fighting back against their team this season, which unfortunately would mean a panic trade that strips the team of long term assets in order to get wins and stop the jeers. We truly cannot win in any sense of the word.

UPDATE: Of course Dolan reportedly was pointing out a TEENAGE fan during all this.

Dolan shouted at security during the chanting and according to a source, he singled out a teenager because he was the chanting fan closest to the Knicks owner. Dolan’s on record as stating he does not appreciate when fans heckle him about giving up his ownership of the team.
