As a guy who was introduced to the sport of mixed martial arts via Brock Lesnar's UFC debut, and one who has primarily watched mainstream North American MMA my entire life, I gotta tell ya - these PRIDE style headkick knockouts on grounded fighters will never not be insanely jarring to me. I just wasn't around as a fan when they were commonplace, and now, I feel like the dudes inflicting them should be jailed (for life), but fuck it - if you're allowed to use em, why wouldn't ya? And if your opponent is just taking a knee for no apparent reason whatsoever? Fire away. Launch that dude's head as far as ya want.
