3. Free Guy

It seems to me that Ryan Reynolds is on a mission to make video game movies good, and I'm ok with that! I enjoyed 'Detective Pikachu' and this looks like a really fun and meta take on the genre. Besides Reynolds, it stars Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok), Jodie Comer (Killing Eve), Joe Keery (Stranger Things) and Lil Rel Howery (Get Out). Shawn Levy (Night at the Museum ) directed off a Matt Lieberman (Scoob!) script.

4. Escape From Pretoria

I love, LOVE, escape movies. Setting it in a South Africa just makes it all the more intriguing to me. Lets hope Brooks Koepka makes a cameo. It stars Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter), Ian Hart (Harry Potter) and Mark Leonard Winter (The Dressmaker). Francis Annan (The Longest Drive) wrote and directed.

5. Promising Young Women

WOOOOO buddy does this look awesome. Carey Mulligan is an incredible actress and has the perfect fit for this sort of role. By the way, this remix of 'Toxic'? Inject it into my veins. Besides Mulligan it stars Laverne Cox (Orange is the New Black), Bo Burnham (Eighth Grade), Clancy Brown (Starship Troopers), Christopher Mintz-Plasse (Superbad) and Jennifer Coolidge (American Pie). Emerald Fennell (Killing Eve) wrote and directed.

6. In the Heights

The play that began Lin-Manuel Miranda's career is hitting the big screen This looks like a pure delight, and way more back in his lane than his last movie (Marry Poppins). It stars Miranda, Dascha Polanco (Orange is the New Black), Stephanie Beatriz (Brooklyn Nine Nine), Corey Hawkins (Straight Outta Compton) and Jimmy Smits (Star Wars). Jon M. Chu (G.I. Joe: Retaliation) is behind the camera.
